The Vibe Solution

1. The Vibe App consists of BLE (Bluetooth Light) connection platform which searches for and connects to other Vibe App users where information can be exchanged.
2. The Vibe App connects via BLE to a wearable Vibe display pin which can show a user’s own choice of image or colour combination and interaction data from the Vibe connections. (A Vibe user can be an individual, brand, retailer, cause or location). The Vibe app shows a user’s profile and interaction summary in a format that they can personalise.
3. The Vibe pin can be attached to clothing via magnetic fixing or applied to the top of back of a smartphone.
4. The user can input several different profiles options (e.g.social, sport, dating) These outwardly visible profiles can be swapped between at will, or may be pre-scheduled by day, or time of day to reflect the user's situation.  
5. The user can broadcast a profile with specific keywords and receive matched profiles
6. When a user sends a Vibe initial handshake message to another user, 3 options are displayed which can result in connection, no connection or delayed connection.
7. The Vibe Platform allows different applications to be written on the basic Vibe architecture. Applications include Fundraising, Payments, Dating, Ticketing, Music Sharing, Advertising, Gaming, Conferencing, Work Meetings, Social Media connectivity, Health and Personal feelings.
8. The Vibe Platform collects unique locational and interactional data from its App and allows in depth analysis of user clusters and their locations. It collects images displayed on the Vibe and time and locations of these displays.
9. Brands, Retailers, and location owners can supply a "package" of content via the Vibe Platform to the users in a specific location.
10. Vibe users can pass display and profile content from one user to another in a location like a ‘pier to pier’ network with individuals becoming Vibe influencers within a crowd.
11. All analytics are available to users, so they can see the impact they have created.

INTRODUCING NEW INDUSTRY STANDARDS FOR INTERACTIVE WEARABLE DIGITAL SIGNAGE DEVICES
Standardization of communication protocols between visible wearable devices and displays

Redwood City, CA: Wearable display and signage devices require very different standards to the traditional smartphone and watch market as the content displayed is visible and projected to a constantly changing audience. This means that the wearer is, for the first time, responsible for the content projected to the outside world. This emerging new world currently has no rules and our standards are the first.

Today BSM Inc. announces the first set of industry standards for wearable and visible digital devices (interactive badges), specifically for device to device nonverbal ‘line of sight’ communication. ‘Line of sight’ communication includes infra-red and laser in this context. The standard is called iNSAS® (interactive nonverbal symbol and sound www.insas.org) and has been developed to allow manufacturers to produce interactive badges and/or visible signage devices that have a common communication protocol.

This allows devices to talk to one another over ‘line of sight,’ using a standard set of symbols, colors and sounds. The iNSAS® standard also includes a legal framework for managing the display of copyright images and an ethical code on respecting an individual’s displayed content and symbols. 

The market for visible personal digital displays (interactive badges) is in its infancy at present but is set to grow rapidly as the applications in the health, gaming, social media and personal interaction gain traction. To ensure there is rapid growth it is critical that the communication protocol is standardized early on to avoid one manufacturers device not talking to another.

In developing the ’i.®’, an interactive badge, it became clear that there were no behavioral standards for signaling to a wearer that communication was possible, wanted or whether a person could approach someone. BSM Inc. developed and patented a symbol language of shapes, colors and sounds that together create a V.i.b.e® or Visual interactive behavioral emblem. This V.i.b.e signals to other wearers the communication status and approachability of the wearer.

As the visible wearable technology market evolves, BSM Inc hopes iNSAS® will provide a common industry wide standard for all such devices, thereby avoiding previous standards wars (Betamax vs VHS). This visible wearable device to device market is rapidly emerging as the next accessory after the watch and so far the ’i.®’ applications have been enthusiastically received by manufacturers.

Go on any train or bus or walk into coffee bars and all you see are people looking at their phones. Lost in watching what other people are saying and doing. Today’s society has moved to digital voyeurs, satisfied in online friendships often with no physical contact.

But is there a psychological cost to this generation of phone watchers? We believe there is and we believe that there will be a seismic change in the very near future away from social media to ‘real life social networks’.

Technological advances in Wearable Technology such as low energy Bluetooth, improved battery life and miniaturization has allowed personal displays and digital badges such as the i.® to emerge as a way to make a statement of ‘who you are’ and go further by inviting others to actually talk to you directly through interactive messaging.

This behavior change will be slow at first as a new set of human rules develop and grow but we believe in 5 years the visible digital badge/signage/communicator market displaying anything you choose to share about you, will grow to a multi-billion-dollar market with as many badges as smart phones currently and certainly many more than watches.

This market will be vast and be the next major area of technical innovation.
